Résumé

The growth of ordered Co nanoparticles on self-organized vicinal Au surface is investigated, by combining reflectance anisotropy spectroscopy and scanning tunnelling microscopy. Structures in the optical spectra originate from the optical excitation of plasma resonances in the particles. The shape of the particle can be determined from the spectra by use of an electromagnetic model which reproduces correctly the experiments, in good agreement with data obtained from microscopy
