Résumé

Application of systems biology approaches for benchmark model organisms has helped to get insights on several important physiological processes, such as development and metabolism. In this context, and to better understand the functioning of cellular metabolism in the model brown alga E. siliculosus, metabolic networks are under construction based on genomic information. To this aim, two approaches are conducted in parallel and will be described. The first one focuses on the characterization of the mannitol metabolism, which plays a pivotal physiological role in brown algae. The second approach aims at reconstructing the most complete metabolic network for Ectocarpus by combining firstly gene annotation with database of reactions, and then, at a later stage, transcriptomic and metabolic data.
