Identification of Mycosporine-like amino acids in algae collected in Brittany
Résumé
Mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) are found in several marine and terrestrial organisms where they act as UV-A photoprotector. Those compounds share a common structure and common properties. They fulfill their biological role thanks to maximum wavelength absorbance ranging from 310 to 360 nm and high molecular extinction coefficients. They have already been detected in several microalgae and in Rodophyta and Phaeophyceae. The present study aimed to the identification of MAAs in macroalage collected in Brittany in the framework of IDEALG project.
