Abstract : A robust numerical method for the localization of caustics is proposed for general Hamiltonians. It is based on the direct resolution of a system of partial differential equations obtained through a local change of the time variable in the Hamilton-Jacobi equation and complemented by a set of transport equation. Numerical results (1 to 3-D) are presented.
